Kerala State Lotteries was established in 1967 was the first of its kind in India that was started under the lottery department by the Government of Kerala, after banning all private lotteries. Only Rs.30/- per ticket the Pournami Lottery, kerala government issues 63 Lakh tickets every week. The first prize is Rs. 65,00,000/-. Pournami lottery comes on every Sunday and Kerala state lottery department announces the name of the winners.

Among the seven series the first prize can be won by only one person. The second prize is Rs. 1,00,000 that can be won by 14 people, 2 from each series. The third prize is Rs. 10,000 that can be won by maximum 63 participents.
